Speech and Language Therapist (Band 6) Location: Marylebone, London Hours: Full-time, term time only Contract: Permanent Salary: Band 6 Role Overview A specialist SEN school in Central London is seeking a Speech and Language Therapist to join their multidisciplinary team. In this Band 6 role, you will support students aged 11–18 with autism, social communication needs, dyslexia, dyspraxia, and wider SEN/SpLD profiles. The position involves delivering targeted interventions, contributing to a whole-school therapeutic model, and working closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff. Key Responsibilities * Provide speech and language therapy for pupils with SEN/SpLD. * Deliver individual and group therapy programmes. * Complete assessments, progress reviews, and reporting. * Set communication targets collaboratively with teachers and families. * Adapt resources and approaches to support access to learning. * Maintain therapy records and contribute to annual reviews. * Participate in CPD, reflective practice, and service development. * Supervise assistants or students when required. * Attend multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to school events. * Follow safeguarding procedures and provide support during activities. Person Requirements * Qualified Speech and Language Therapist (Band 6). * HCPC registration. * Experience with children or young people with SEN/SpLD. * Knowledge of evidence-based speech and language interventions. * Strong communication and organisational skills. * Understanding of safeguarding and risk management. * Desirable: school-based experience; experience with autism and social communication needs; confidence managing more complex cases with supervision.
